Company History

   Advanced Controls was formed in 1999 by Gary Bonebright to serve the Arizona Marketplace.  Gary had served Johnson Controls, Inc. for more than 25 years starting as a application engineer and eventually becoming the Area Manager for the Johnson Controls Sunbelt Area which encompasses Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and West Texas.

   Gary retired from JCI in 1998 but found that he still had a desire to continue in the business and that many of his customers wanted very much for him to continue as well. 

   During the first year of operation, service of existing systems, both pneumatic and electronic, was the focus of the company with limited focus on new projects.  We specifically chose this approach to insure that we had the right people and processes in place to meet the needs of our customers. 

   Once we confirmed that we were delivering the quality of service that our customers desired, we then vigorously began to pursue new customers in both the new construction and retrofit markets.

   Our capability to accomplish this was greatly enhanced by the addition of Christopher Tober to the Advanced Controls staff.  Chris had decided to leave JCI after 18 years to pursue a business of his own when JCI Area Management and Gary reached an agreement for ACC to offer Chris an Ownership stake in the Company.

   With Chris's sales contacts and talent, ACC had risen to a leadership position in the Southern Arizona Controls Market in just 2 years!

     ACC was an ABCS for Johnson Controls from 1999-2003. We received the Distributor of the Year award from JCI in 2002. Within that time frame our technicians excelled in installation and service of the JCI product line. To this day we still have many technicians ready to service this product line.

  Since then we have picked up the Circon, Delta, and Hochiki product lines. We are a FieldServer Approved Integrator, and a Microsoft partner with Microsoft Certified Professionals on Staff.
